Farmington police have arrested two individuals following a months-long investigation into severe child abuse allegations. The suspects, 36-year-old Patricia Madrid and 59-year-old Jammy Jackson, now face seven felony child abuse charges each, along with seven felony charges of conspiracy to commit that abuse.
According to a criminal complaint, one of the children alleged they were forced to stand inside a chicken coop from the moment they woke up until they went to bed—approximately 17 hours each day. This harrowing routine reportedly occurred every day from April through September, with the exception of a three-day family trip, and the child was allowed to use the bathroom only twice daily.
The child further alleged they were forced to endure the cold without proper clothing and suffered from malnourishment, in addition to being abused. It is reported that a gun was even pointed at the child, and they were hit. When questioned, both Jackson and Madrid admitted that the child had outbursts requiring discipline, but they denied the allegations against them.
Investigators noted that a search warrant on Jackson’s phone allegedly revealed a log of extensive text messages, which purportedly showed him and Madrid discussing the allegations. Based on this evidence, police drew up charges and arrested the pair on Tuesday.
This incident marks not the first time Madrid has been implicated in child abuse allegations. In 2020, prosecutors charged her with child abuse; however, that case was dropped.
Everything and I do mean everything that they put that child through needs to be done to them. Disgusting people
