Orlando, Florida āMore than a year after 30-year-old Porshe Nikita Shanee Streeter was found shot to death while lying in bed beside her three children, police have arrested her former boyfriend and his cousin in what investigators are calling a premeditated murder designed to look like a robbery gone wrong.
Authorities say 32-year-old Saun Rainge Jr. and 26-year-old Benjamin Garmon have both been charged with first-degree murder in Streeterās death. According to the Orange County Sheriffās Office, deputies responded to Streeterās apartment on January 13, 2024, where they found her dead with 10 gunshot wounds. Rainge was also on the scene, wounded with a gunshot to the shoulder.
Rainge initially claimed he had been ambushed by a masked intruder who shot them both and fled the apartment after stealing $2,000 in cash and three cell phones. He told detectives he then chased after the man, unarmed, and was somehow able to retrieve the stolen phones. He said he tried to get help from neighbors, but no one responded.
Over time, detectives began to see troubling inconsistencies in Raingeās story. Their investigation revealed that the couple had a rocky, on-and-off relationship that had become increasingly volatile. That night, they had reportedly argued after Rainge took Streeterās phone charger and house key without her permission. While he occasionally stayed over, Rainge did not live there, and Streeter was the only person listed on the lease.
Police were especially suspicious of the scene. Streeter had been shot with deadly precision, while Rainge sustained only a superficial injury. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex did not support his claims of a break-in. Investigators also suspect Rainge deleted video evidence from a working security camera near the front door.
Further probing revealed deeper motives. Rainge was reportedly involved in a heated custody dispute with Streeter and had recently discovered she was keeping money from him. He was allegedly enraged about rumors of infidelity and had been offended by a message in which Streeter called him a āsissy.ā
Detectives also uncovered surveillance footage of Rainge and Garmon driving near Streeterās home just hours before the shooting. Authorities believe Rainge was showing Garmon the location of the apartment. Later, another camera recorded a man fleeing the scene wearing a brightly colored Ferrari jacket. That same jacket was identified in Garmon's social media photos.
Investigators believe Rainge used the key he had taken to let himself and Garmon into the apartment. Garmon is accused of fatally shooting Streeter in her bed while her children slept next to her. To make the attack appear as a botched robbery, they say Garmon then shot Rainge in the shoulder before fleeing the scene.
The arrests mark a tragic turning point in a case that left an entire community shocked, especially knowing that Streeterās young children were present during the brutal act. Detectives have emphasized the emotional toll this case has taken, particularly on the children who lost their mother in such a violent and calculated way.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
