Florida Woman Arrested After Stabbing Pregnant Victim 14 Times Over Pizza Delivery Tip

A Florida woman is in custody and facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman 14 times during a violent attack over a dispute about a pizza delivery tip. Authorities are actively searching for a male accomplice who participated in the incident.

Brianna Alvelo has been charged with attempted murder with a weapon, home invasion with a firearm, and aggravated assault with a weapon for the attack on Melinda Irizarry, who was staying at a Florida motel with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter.

Incident Details

The incident began after Irizarry ordered a pizza to her motel room. Alvelo, who delivered the pizza, allegedly became upset when she received only a $2 tip. Irizarry explained that she had tried to find smaller bills after Alvelo refused to make change for the order but could not locate any. Alvelo reportedly rolled her eyes and left without saying a word.

Later that night, while Irizarry and her family were asleep, loud banging on their motel door startled them awake. When they answered, a man and a woman—both armed—forced their way into the room. According to police, the male suspect took Irizarry’s boyfriend into the bathroom, leaving Irizarry and her child alone with Alvelo in the bedroom.

Alvelo allegedly began rifling through Irizarry’s belongings, dumping out her purse and breaking her daughter’s Nintendo Switch. The situation turned violent when Alvelo attacked Irizarry with a knife, stabbing her 14 times in the chest, arms, legs, and abdomen.

Victim’s Condition

Irizarry was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, including a punctured lung. Doctors discovered she was several weeks pregnant. Emergency surgery was performed to stabilize her condition.

Legal Proceedings

Alvelo was arrested and faces charges carrying a potential life sentence if convicted. She is being held without bail at the Osceola County Jail. Meanwhile, police are continuing their search for her male accomplice.
