Tamarac, Florida – A Florida woman, Mary Gingles, 34, was tragically killed along with two others in a shooting spree, with her 4-year-old daughter briefly abducted by her estranged husband, Nathan Gingles. According to authorities, Mary desperately ran through her neighborhood seeking help after she was shot, but unfortunately, she was unable to escape the violence.
The Broward Sheriff's Office reported that officers first arrived at the scene of the massacre on February 16, just after 6 a.m., where they discovered Mary’s father, David Pozner, 64, dead on the back patio of the Tamarac home. During their investigation, police learned that Seraphine Gingles, the couple’s young daughter, was missing and issued an Amber Alert. The alert was later called off after the child was safely found hours later, with Nathan Gingles arrested in North Lauderdale.
Authorities then found Mary’s body inside the residence of her neighbor, Andrew Ferrin, 36, who was also killed in the spree. As the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that Mary had tried to escape, running to nearby homes in a desperate attempt to save herself. A neighbor reported seeing her footprints in the area as she tried to flee the scene.
Nathan Gingles has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of violating a protective order, and one count of interfering with custody. He is currently being held without bond, except for the custody interference charge, where his bail has been set at $2,500. At this time, information regarding his attorney is not available, and the investigation continues.
This devastating crime serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence and the lengths some individuals will go to in an attempt to control their partners. Authorities are continuing their investigation as the community reels from the loss of three lives.
