Terry Ogle dialed 911 on the morning of January 17, telling dispatchers that "there’s been some violence." When pressed further, he reportedly admitted, “I did it,” and explained that his wife was “deceased,” adding, “Yeah, she’s been down for a while.”

When asked if he wanted to try CPR, Ogle replied, “It’s too late.”

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers responded to the call and arrived at the couple’s home to find Mary Ogle lying on her back, her body covered with a blanket. Blood was visible from a head injury. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Court records revealed Ogle’s shocking statements to police. He reportedly admitted to bludgeoning his wife with a hammer, saying, “It’s a long story, I’ve been under depression for a while. So, we weren’t arguing. I just lost it. I think she’s having an affair. So, I lost it.”

In a devastating twist, Ogle also texted his daughter, reportedly writing, “I’m going to jail. I killed Mary.”

Police noted that Ogle himself was injured, with a self-inflicted wound to his left wrist. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment before being placed under arrest and charged with murder.
