Three family members charged in connection with the cover-up of a murder in Louisiana.

Baker, Louisiana – A tragic murder involving a teenage son and his family led to charges for the woman and her mother after they allegedly helped cover up the death of her boyfriend, whose body was discovered on the Huey P. Long Bridge in Jefferson Parish. Coshelia Conley, 36, her 17-year-old son Da'Sean Conley, and her 55-year-old mother Cathy Conley have all been arrested and charged in connection with the gruesome crime.

On Thursday evening, Gerard Nicholas Richard, 39, was shot and killed by Da'Sean Conley after an argument between the two escalated. According to the arrest affidavit, the confrontation began inside Conley's apartment, where Richard was allegedly punched and beaten before the altercation moved outside. Witnesses then reported hearing a single gunshot. Afterward, the family attempted to cover up the murder by wrapping Richard's body in a blanket and trying to dispose of it by dumping it off the bridge. The body was found near the center of the bridge, run over by passing vehicles after the family's failed attempt.

Surveillance footage from Coshelia Conley's apartment showed her and her family removing a trash bag believed to contain bloody clothes just before the body was found. Police later found blood and bleach in the apartment and parking lot, suggesting an attempt to clean up the crime scene. Authorities also reported that a witness saw the Conleys' vehicles at the top of the bridge, where Richard's body was dropped and left behind.

Coshelia Conley is facing charges of being an accessory after the fact of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Her son, Da'Sean, is charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Cathy Conley has been booked for obstruction of justice and as a principal to second-degree murder.

This disturbing case has left the community in shock, as investigators continue to piece together the details of the crime and cover-up.
