A man was arrested for driving over 700 miles to set fire to a home in a revenge plot after a conversation between his ex-girlfriend and another man.

Bensalem, Pennsylvania ā€“ A Michigan man has been arrested after allegedly driving more than 700 miles to set fire to a home in a vengeful act. Harrison Jones, 30, from Rockford, Michigan, is facing six counts of attempted homicide, arson, and other related charges following the attack on February 10.

At around 5:22 a.m., Bensalem police responded to a fire at a home on Merganser Way, where six adults were found to have escaped the flames. Some had to jump from second-story windows to flee the fire, which tragically claimed the lives of two dogs. The victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries.

Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set, with nearby surveillance footage showing a black sedan stopping near the house at 5:01 a.m. The footage captured a man walking toward the house with an object, then returning to the vehicle after approximately 15 minutes. The house was engulfed in flames, followed by a loud explosion.

Through collaboration with the Kent County Sheriff's Office in Michigan, police traced the vehicleā€”a black 2021 Volkswagen Passatā€”back to Jones' home. Interviews with residents revealed that Jones was angry after learning that one of the home's residents had been talking to his ex-girlfriend. The resident was planning to meet her in person, which reportedly led to Jones taking drastic and violent measures.

Authorities seized Jones' car, lock-picking tools, a cell phone, and a computer during a search of his residence. They also noted burns on Jones' arm when they made contact with him. After securing an arrest warrant with the approval of the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Jones was taken into custody and is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.

This dangerous act of retaliation nearly cost six lives, underscoring the destructive power of personal grievances. The investigation remains ongoing as Bensalem police continue to gather evidence.

This is too vengeful. What's wrong with these people. Relationships isn't by force. You should be allowed to break-up with someone without worrying about what action they are going to take against you. It's sad.
