In a case that has deeply unsettled the community, a 26-year-old Connecticut man, Jevon Fletcher, has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbings of his girlfriend and his 2-year-old son. Fletcher now faces two counts each of murder and murder with exceptional circumstances and risk of injury, according to West Haven police.
The investigation began on Saturday night after multiple calls reported a disturbance at an apartment complex. Witnesses recalled Fletcher leaping from a second-story window, prompting officers to enter the apartment. Inside, they discovered a tragic scene: the 19-year-old woman, identified as Hailey Miller, and a toddler, alleged to be Fletcher's son, had been fatally stabbed. Following the grim discovery, authorities promptly detained Fletcher. He was later released from the hospital on Tuesday and is now held on a $3 million bond, with his next court appearance set for March 13.
Police have yet to reveal a motive for these murders.

Residents recounted the chaotic events of that night. "I heard someone scream, ‘No, no, no,' and immediately sensed something was wrong," said neighbor Moss Hanley. Another resident, Ben Hanley, expressed his disbelief, stating, "It’s sickening to think that someone could harm a woman and a child in such a brutal way."
As the investigation continues, the community is left mourning the loss of two young lives and demanding answers to this tragic case.
