A Florida man has been accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend with a kitchen knife while her daughter was on the phone with 911 during the tragic attack.
Makinson Devalcin, 45, faces charges in the death of Enese Pierre, who was killed in her Davenport townhouse on Sunday, according to court documents.
The victimās daughter reported the incident to authorities, stating that her stepfather was armed and had attacked her mother. Deputies responding to the 911 call found Pierre deceased in her bedroom, suffering from a fatal stab wound to her neck.
The suspect, Devalcin, was discovered unconscious at the top of the staircase with a cut on his neck. Authorities transported him to a hospital, where he is receiving medical care while in custody.
According to the affidavit, Pierreās daughter recounted the events leading up to the attack. Her mother arrived home around 1:40 a.m., wished her goodnight, and went to her bedroom. A short time later, the daughter heard her mother screaming for help, saying, "He is trying to kill me."
As the daughter approached her motherās room, she saw her injured and bleeding. Pierre instructed her to call 911. When the daughter returned to the bedroom, her mother was unresponsive, and blood was pooling on the bed.
The suspect reportedly stood up, brandished a knife, and said, āNo one messes with me.ā Investigators noted that the knife used in the attack matched a sheath found in the kitchen, indicating it came from the household.
A roommate who was present at the time of the incident reported hearing screams and witnessing the aftermath but was pushed away by the suspect when she attempted to intervene.
Authorities have not disclosed when or how the suspect sustained his injuries. Devalcin is currently being held without bail, and the investigation is ongoing.
