Sean “Diddy” Combs Faces Lawsuit Alleging Sexual Assault of a Minor in 2000
A new lawsuit has been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in New York City over two decades ago. The plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, claims that Combs raped her in 2000 when she was a 16-year-old high school student.
According to the lawsuit, filed in the plaintiff alleges that she lived with her parents in Lower Manhattan and worked as a babysitter in an apartment building. She claims that one of Combs’ romantic partners also resided in the same building. The lawsuit states that Jane Doe encountered Combs and two of his associates, who reportedly worked for him, during this time.
The plaintiff alleges that Combs repeatedly offered her a ride home, which she initially declined. She eventually accepted the offer but became concerned when the car did not take her to her residence. According to the complaint, she was given a drink to "calm her down," which made her feel "groggy" and "unsteady."
The lawsuit claims that Combs and his associates transported the plaintiff to another location, where she was sexually assaulted. She states that she was later returned to her apartment building and left in the lobby.
This case adds to a growing number of allegations against the music mogul. Combs has been named in over 30 lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct. In response to these allegations, Combs’ legal team issued a statement denying all claims.
“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won't change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor,” his attorneys said. “We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.”
Combs is currently in custody in Brooklyn as he awaits trial on unrelated federal sex crime charges. He has pleaded not guilty, and the trial is scheduled for May.
