The body of a 61-year-old missing woman, Lola Karabaeva, was tragically found wrapped in plastic and duct taped to a board in a closet inside a home on Diplomat Place in Northeast Philadelphia. Karabaeva, whose friends reported her missing, was last spoken to on a Saturday at 2:30 a.m. Police discovered her deceased body during a search on Wednesday, and she was pronounced dead at 10:13 a.m. Her cause of death is under investigation, with authorities suspecting she had been deceased for a few days.

Karabaeva's husband, Vladimir Lushevskiy, was arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, and further charges are being considered. Surveillance footage captured Karabaeva's arrival at her home on the morning of October 12, which was the last sighting of her before her death. A neighbor mentioned that the video showed Lushevskiy leaving the residence later that day.

The neighborhood, particularly saddened by the news, described Karabaeva as a good woman with whom they shared dinners in the backyard. The Philadelphia Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the investigation as they strive to unravel the circumstances leading to Karabaeva's tragic demise. Stay informed as the story continues to evolve and more details come to light.
