Wisconsin Couple Accused of Planning and Committing Sexual Abuse of Infant Daughter

MADISON, WISCONSIN- A young couple from Madison is at the center of an alarming criminal investigation after authorities say they planned and carried out the sexual abuse of an infant child. Both are now facing serious felony charges.

Twenty-two-year-old Skyler Klassen and 21-year-old Madison Bishop have been arrested and charged after police allege Klassen sexually assaulted Bishop’s 2-month-old baby and that Bishop actively conspired with him to commit the crime, even before her daughter was born.

The horrifying case began to unfold on April 9 when Madison police executed a search warrant related to an active warrant out of Nevada for child exploitation. Upon searching Klassen’s phone, officers say they uncovered child sexual abuse materials involving multiple victims, including graphic images and a video of the infant victim being assaulted.

According to a criminal complaint reviewed by prosecutors, investigators also discovered explicit text messages between Klassen and Bishop in which they allegedly discussed their intentions to sexually abuse the baby while Bishop was still pregnant. After the child was born, police say the couple continued exchanging disturbing messages and sharing explicit materials from outside sources as well.

The evidence led to Klassen being charged with four counts of child sexual exploitation, four counts of possession of child sex abuse material, one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child, and one count of incest. Investigators have not clarified Klassen’s biological relationship to the child.

Madison Bishop was arrested on April 15. She is facing one count of first-degree child sexual assault and one count of failure to protect a child. Authorities say she not only failed to stop the abuse but also played an active role in planning it.

Both suspects remain in custody. It is unclear whether either has entered a plea, and no bond information has been publicly released.

The Dane County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the investigation remains open and declined to comment further.

The case has shaken the Madison community and sparked an online outpouring of grief and outrage. Child advocates and residents have called for justice and renewed discussions about how to better protect the most vulnerable members of society.

The infant victim is now in protective care, and law enforcement continues to gather forensic evidence to support the prosecution.
